2025 Dates To Be Announced
What Is Ride the River?
Ride the River is an event where owners of PWC (Personal Water Craft) sometimes called Jet Ski's, get together to ride one of our wonderful rivers. 1, 2, and 3 seater PWC's have joined the ride in the past. The ride usually picks up other PWC riders along the way. A JLA boat will often follow behind the group in case anyone needs a tow or gets into trouble. Ride the River is coordinated by Jared Godin.
Why Should I Join?
It is an opportunity to meet new neighbors with the same interest. One rider said it's like being part of a "motorcycle gang on the water." Another said, "Thanks so much for showing us this hidden gem. We take all our lake guests up the river now."
Where Do You Meet?
We meet at Lloyd Shoals at the dam. We will gather from 9:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m., we will ride up the lake to either the Yellow River or the Alcovy River .
What Should I Bring?
Everyone on your PWC needs a life vest. Fill your gas up the night before. Most of the newer PWC's have a large enough tanks that a good 1/2 will do the ride. Bring some sunscreen as well and bottled water.
How Long Does It Last?
The ride takes about 1 and 1/2 hours. Some riders leave to head home after the ride, but others meet up at one of our local marinas for lunch and friendship.
